Wherever I go for my daily walk, I see youngsters walking with their headphones jammed into their ears or simply placed around their necks. Definitely, a good pair of headphones can add a cool factor to our personality (apart from, of course, taking your music where you go). Being an audiophile, I absolutely love to hear music on the best audio devices possible.
That’s how I ended up getting a Bose cinema for the TV, Bose twin speakers for the computer, a Bose QuietComfort noise-canceling headphones for casual music, and whatnot. Oh! I sound like a Bose fanboy but no, that’s not the case.
Let’s see which are the best wireless headphones available in India today.
Recent times have brought us something even more interesting. With advancements in technology, we no longer need wires to connect our devices. With Bluetooth, people are cutting the cord and opting for wireless technology in most electronic devices, including headphones.
Wireless headphones not only help them stay connected anywhere anytime, but their sound quality is also as good as their wired counterparts.
Although wireless headphones might cost a bit more than wired ones, the benefits are worth the price.
Let’s take a look.
In this article…
Who Should Buy Wireless Headphones?
There was a time, not all that long ago, when I used to always get tangled in the wire of the headphones. If you are like me, someone who completely adores freedom of movement in their day-to-day activities, you definitely need wireless options. Most wireless headphones have a range of more than 30 feet. They also prove great for gym enthusiasts, athletes, and runners, for whom the wires would only be a hindrance.
Another term that is associated with headphones is Hi-Fi. Before I proceed further, let me explain what Hi-Fi headphones are.High Fidelity is a term used to describe high-end headphones that are known for their high-quality reproduction of sound.
Reasons You Should Choose Hi-Fi Headphones
High-end headphones tend to be more expensive, but they have something to offer that their cheaper alternatives can’t. Firstly, the audio experience is impeccable. You’ll be blown away by the crisp and clear music quality on these. The best part is that the highs don’t sound harsh and the bass doesn’t get muddy. When I first listened to my favorite songs on wireless Hi-fi headphones, it almost felt like I was listening to a live performance.
In comparison with regular headphones, the build quality and features are also way better in Hi-Fi variants. They are usually made of heavy materials, which makes them feel sturdy inside and out, such that they can take a bit of a beating. Due to the heavy build, they don’t creak each time you slide them over the head and adjust the headband either. Some high-end headphones also feature a fold-up design, vinyl or velour ear pad covering and a carrying shell.
What is Noise Cancellation?
If you are a music lover who wants to block out the outside world while listening to your favorite tracks or watching a movie, you need the noise cancellation feature. Again, such headphones will be slightly more expensive. So, if you work mostly in spaces that are already quiet, investing in a noise cancellation device could prove to be a sheer waste of money.
Noise cancellation headphones will cancel out the outside noise for you, once you wear them on.
Once you know the features you are looking for, check out my 10 best picks for headphones in India.
Sennheiser Momentum Wireless
Founded in 1945 by Fritz Sennheiser, Sennheiser is a German manufacturer of headphones and microphones. This is popular as one of the best brands for audio equipment. Sennheiser Momentum Wireless are incredible wireless headphones that offer amazing audio fidelity and lasting battery life, but at a hefty price. Due to the premium price, many buyers don’t even take a look at it. However, if you can afford it, there is nothing better.
Bose QuietComfort 35 II
Bose makes some of the best noise-canceling premium headphones available today. Most of its popular models are available at heavy discounts on e-commerce platforms like Amazon. Bose QuietComfort 35 II is the successor of Bose QuietComfort 35, available at a lower price. Both headsets were updated with Google Assistant. Coming to my pick, weighing 0.68 pounds, Bose QuietComfort 35 II is a high-end wireless headphone that looks stylish and is highly comfortable to wear. The headset offers vibrant sound and offers impeccable noise cancellation. Its battery can last for more than 20 hours on a single charge.
Sony WH-1000XM2
Although Bose is a leader in wireless noise-canceling headphones, Sony is offering something better at a similar price. With great sound quality and superb noise cancellation, SonyWH-1000XM2 is my ultimate recommendation for headphones. The device offers more than 20 hours of battery life. The attractive features of this headset are its ambient noise mode, Quick Attention mode, and LDAC codec.
Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless
Offering crisp and clear sound, the Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless is one of the best-sounding wireless headphones you can invest in, only if you are ready to make a compromise. The headset features average noise cancellation and a bulky design. If you travel a lot, this device is a big no-no for you.
Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2
Plantronics is one brand that is giving close competition to Beats, Bose, and Sony, of late. At only half the price, this brand is offering similar quality. The Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2 is a Bluetooth headphone that is comfortable to wear and sounds very good too. You can use this headset to make phone calls too. The device offers an impressive 24 hours of battery life and overall excellent value for money.
Jabra Move Wireless
Jabra manufactures wireless and corded headsets for mobile phone users, office users, and contact centers. Their wireless music range looks sporty and gives you the freedom to take your music anywhere, without burning a hole in your pocket. The lightweight Jabra Move Wireless features a bold design and decent sound quality.
Jabra Elite 65t True Wireless Earbuds
If headphones feel too bulky, Jabra Elite 65t True Wireless Earbuds (Bluetooth buds) have to be your immediate choice. They are much better than Apple AirPods. No doubt, they’ll be expensive but will give you the perfect balance of features, usability, battery life, and sound quality. The pleasure of listening to the audio on these earbuds cannot be described.
Optoma NuForce BE Sport4
Optoma NuForce BE Sport4 is an amazing choice of earbuds. These high-performance buds are sleek and offer incredible value for money, with good sound quality and incredible sound cancellation. However, you’ll have to get used to a wire wrapped around your neck.
Bose QuietControl 30
Coming from my favorite manufacturer, Bose QuietControl 30 is a well-built neck-bud with a cool design that is really comfortable to carry. The device offers excellent sound quality and variable noise-canceling. However, if you are looking for noise canceling as effective as QuietComfort 35 and QuietComfort 20, you’ll be disappointed.
AKG N60NC Wireless
Ending my list is the compact AKG N60NC Wireless, a mid-range headphone that will leave you spellbound with its amazing sound quality and high-level noise-cancellation performance. However, these headphones cannot be worn for long hours, since they are on-ear.
For headphones, it is often said that the expensive more the model is, the better the sound quality. But, not everything expensive is worth its price. There are some great headphones that are available at a much lower price but sound great. The key is to focus on the audio quality and not the branding or price.
But if you ask what my personal favorite is, it is the Bose Quiet Comfort, but hey, I might be biased.
