Eligibility

To avail the American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card, here are the eligibility criteria:

Have an annual income of 6 Lakh and above (both salaried as well self-employed). In case of self-employed person the company must have been trading for a minimum of 12 months.

Permanent resident address should be in India.

Proof of any multinational or any government bank in India.

A good payment history with no default history.

Fee

First year fee is Rs. 3500

Second year onward annual fee is Rs 5000 plus taxes.

As a welcome gift you get a 5,000 Milestone Bonus Membership Rewards Points that can be later redeemed for Rs 4000 worth Indigo Vouchers.

For customers who have annual spending of 1.9 Lakh and more can avail vouchers worth Rs 7700 from Indigo.

For annual spends more than 4 Lakh you can get vouchers from Indigo worth 11800 and voucher 10000 from Taj Group.

Earn 1 membership point for every Rs 50 spent on fuel and other utilities.

In case you don’t want to redeem you’re points for Indigo vouchers you can go for other redemption options available with this card.

American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card Review

The American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card has been designed exclusively for business men and people whose profession require a lot of travel. You can earn reward points on your travel and get vouchers or later redeem them for numerous gifts. The card has wide acceptance and can be used at all leading outlets. You can also earn points on fuel and other utilities which come under your daily expenses.

Customers who regularly use this card will not have any difficulty in availing benefits from the American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card. For annual spend of 1.9 Lakh and above is pretty reasonable and can be en cashed by all. You get a travel voucher from Indigo worth Rs 7700 which is good and can be used for your next travel. For customers who have heavy spending are also rewarded by this card. For spend of 4 Lakhs and above annually you get a voucher worth 11800 from Indigo and 10000 from Taj group. This is a dual benefit and the annual criteria makes it pretty reasonable.

The card has numerous advantages and owning it comes with good privileges. But again the membership fee of Rs 3500 is pretty high and can be challenging for a person to own. The second year onward the fee rises to Rs 5000 annually which can be quite discouraging.

If you look at other cards which offer similar benefits the price range may differ slightly. But the privileges vary from bank to bank. SBI Signature card comes with travel benefits from Indigo, concierge services and even movie tickets form Bookmyshow. But the joining fee and the annual fee is 4999 which is higher than American Express.

The other similar card is HDFC Diners Club Premium comes with lounge access both in domestic and international airports, fuel surcharge waiver and golf training courses. The joining fee is 2500 and the annual fee is 1000 which is reasonable. Now the American Express Platinum Travel Credit Card comes with numerous privileges which cannot be forgotten. For frequent travelers this is a benefiting card and the points earned can be redeemed for travel vouchers.
